In a significant milestone for medical education and cancer care in Nepal, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali successfully hosted an eminent academic programme on “Colorectal Cancer: Debunking Myths & Bridging Evidence-Based Practice”, drawing participation from more than 100 senior doctors from across the country.

The prestigious gathering, held at the iconic Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg, became a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and clinical excellence. The session was led by Dr. Vivek Mangla, Principal Director – Gastrointestinal & Hepatopancreatobiliary (GI & HPB) Surgical Oncology at Max Healthcare, a globally respected authority in advanced GI cancer management.

Dr. Mangla delivered an insightful and compelling presentation, shedding light on cutting-edge surgical techniques, multidisciplinary treatment strategies, and globally accepted, evidence-based protocols. He addressed long-standing myths surrounding colorectal cancer and emphasized the life-saving importance of early diagnosis, precise intervention, and patient-centric care.

The programme was widely appreciated for its academic depth and practical relevance, with participating doctors describing the discussions as timely, impactful, and transformative for clinical practice. The interactive format encouraged meaningful dialogue, enabling attendees to align local practices with international standards of care.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sabin Karki, Senior Manager – Nepal, Max Healthcare, highlighted the organization’s long-term commitment to Nepal. He stated that Max Healthcare plans to organize more such academic programmes in the future, aimed at strengthening clinical knowledge, fostering collaboration with Nepalese doctors, and continuously improving cancer care outcomes in the country.

Representatives from Max Healthcare reiterated their commitment to fostering cross-border medical partnerships and advancing oncology care in Nepal through continuous academic engagement and patient support initiatives.

The evening concluded on a high note with a networking dinner, strengthening professional bonds and reinforcing a shared vision of excellence in cancer care.
Through initiatives like this, and with the continued support of its Max Patient Assistance Centre in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Max Healthcare continues to play a pivotal role in bringing world-class healthcare expertise closer to the people of Nepal.
