Kathmandu, 21 December 2025
Art of Living Nepal successfully concluded the nationwide celebrations of the 2nd World Meditation Day, marked on December 21, with widespread participation across Nepal. Over the course of the celebration week, more than 50,000 people participated in meditation sessions conducted in various parts of the country, reflecting a growing collective commitment to peace, mental well-being, and harmony.
In addition, over 1,000 participants completed a 7-day guided meditation journey, engaging consistently in daily practice leading up to World Meditation Day. Meditation sessions were conducted across diverse sectors, including schools, colleges, educational institutions, government offices, private organizations, police units, army establishments, and community centers, making the observance truly inclusive and nationwide in scope.
The meditation sessions held throughout the week were facilitated by trained Art of Living teachers and supported by dedicated volunteers, ensuring quality guidance and smooth coordination across locations.
The main national-level event was held in Kathmandu at the Art of Living Center, Shankhamul, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. The program was graced by Dr. Sudha Sharma Gautam, Honorable Minister for Health and Population of Nepal, along with members of the Art of Living Apex Body, senior teachers, and invited guests.
World Meditation Day, officially declared by the United Nations and observed globally on December 21, is aimed at recognizing meditation as a powerful tool for fostering inner peace, emotional balance, and social harmony. The 2025 observance marked the second global celebration of this day.
Through these nationwide initiatives, Art of Living Nepal reaffirmed the vision of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar—to build a stress-free and violence-free society by empowering individuals with practical tools for inner transformation.
Art of Living Nepal expressed heartfelt gratitude to government bodies, educational institutions, security forces, organizations, and community partners for their collaboration in hosting meditation sessions across the country. This collective participation, organizers noted, reflects Nepal’s growing commitment to peace, harmony, and holistic well-being.
