A free geriatric camp and psychological counseling was organized at Ni:Sahaya Sewa Sadan, Minbhawan, Kathmandu by Team NEPO, on Sunday July 3, 2022.
Team NEPO successfully organized its eighth geriatric camp for 2021/22 at Ni:Sahaya Sewa Sadan benefitting the senior citizens residing in the old-age home. 26 senior citizens were benefitted by general medical check-up, free medicine and psychological counseling.
The medical camp was organized in collaboration with VS. Niketan College, IMDF, Ethics from Diverse Perspectives, Amoha and VSSOM Scholar Club. Senior citizen of Ni:Sahaya Sewa Sadan were screened for various ailments, free medicines were prescribed by the physicians. Medical team of physicians Dr. Nigam Paudel, Dr. Santosh Singh Thapa, Dr. Himal Bhatta, Dr. Bishal KC, Dr. Neeraj Shah, Dr. Sadeep Karki and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Bijay Gyawali examined and serviced the senior citizens.
The camp was concluded with formal program inaugurated by Mr. Yogesh Adhikari from Ni:Sahaya Sewa Sadan. Chief Guest Dr. Nigam Paudel, President of Team NEPO, Guests Mr. Pradeep Giri, Vice-President Team NEPO and Mr. Shreejal KC, President, VSSOM Scholar Club appealed their vote of thanks and expressed their gratitude to the senior citizens and representative from Ni:Sahaya Sewa Sadan.
Dr. Himal Bhatta expressed his gratitude to be of service to the senior citizens and thanked the organizers and the partners for successfully organizing the medical camp and recommended to continue with the service of help in coming days.
The camp concluded with the closing remarks from Vice-President Mr. Pradeep Giri who stated ‘We’re blessed to be here today in service of senior citizens, who know nothing about themselves and their family. It was an opportunity to not only assess and address their current health complaints but also to hear their stories and be of service to them.’ He thanked the ashram for providing this opportunity to organize the camp and appreciated the support of medical team, volunteers and partner organizations without whom it would not have been possible to organize frequent camps at old age homes.
